Quest journal & map

Press J for your quest journal or M for the world map. Choose a quest, then follow one clear next step. You can switch between the two without returning to the game first.

The simplified quest journal

Find your next adventure

  • In progress shows your accepted quests. The quest you are following appears first; completed objectives give way to the next step automatically.
  • Discover shows quests you can pick up now. Select Show future quests if you want to see later adventures and their prerequisites.
  • Completed keeps the quests you have turned in, their conclusions and rewards.

Search by quest, person, place or objective. Open Quest details for the full story and checklist, or Rewards for the complete reward list. Neither needs to stay open while you decide what to do next.

Follow a quest

Guide me follows the selected quest and returns you to the world. A small compass shows its search area and distance; the tracker shows only the next objective. Following one quest keeps the screen clear. Your other quests continue progressing normally.

Show on map opens the same objective as a gold marker, with your position shown in white. The dashed line is a direct bearing, not a safe route or path around walls. Follow in world returns you to play with that guidance active.

Your quest on the world map

When your objectives are complete, the journal changes to Return to the quest giver and moves the marker to them. Speak to them with G to receive your reward. After turn-in, the old marker clears; if another quest is active, the journal can follow that next.

Quest progress and rewards are saved by the server. Your followed quest is remembered locally for each character. Existing characters keep the first quest from their previous tracker; no accepted quest or progress is removed. Stop following leaves the tracker empty until you choose another quest or accept a new one.

Read the frontier

Select a holding on the map to see its owner, one Next step here, and its defenders or supply needs. A later holding tells you which earlier location must be secured first. Current front takes you to a threatened allied holding or the next connected enemy holding.

  • Guide me here marks that location for travel on foot.
  • Travel & field orders contains capture orders, supply delivery and rally travel. Orders still require the appropriate location, supplies and campaign conditions.
  • About this location & tactics, Resources and Recent events open only when you need them.
  • Show resources adds gathering sites to the map. Ownership colours and attack warnings remain visible without that extra layer.
  • Your quest returns from a holding report to your marked quest. Quest journal opens the full journal.

The public live map shows the shared campaign. Personal quest guidance is displayed only inside your game.

Controls and display

J, Escape, the close button or controller B closes the journal. Tab / Shift+Tab or the controller D-pad moves between controls; Enter / A selects. Expandable sections work with those controls too. Search accepts normal typing without triggering game shortcuts.

Both panels support smaller windows and scrolling. The world continues while they are open, but movement and combat input are held while you use the interface.

This interface update was checked separately from the campaign simulation: journal and map verification. The original M1 verification records the earlier interface.
