Fight the Frontier: the frontier comes first¶
Jump in with friends. Fight for a place. Make it yours. Hold it when the invaders return.
Chapter One is a focused taste of the broader Fight the Frontier MMO. Its appeal must come from manual sword-and-shield combat, a weighty two-handed mace, drawn archery, aimed magic, striking places and a territory war that responds to the players. The current area is six holdings across two frontiers, with Greyfen as the sole permanent haven.
Players can arrive at any stage, receive the campaign's shared equipment baseline and contribute quickly. Tutorial lessons teach the controls, permanent wolves and the first capture/preparation loop. Basic parties let friends cooperate. Solo progress should be demanding but possible; additional nearby participants make the encounter stronger without counting people idle in town.
Preparation is active play: follow the gold ! above a named resource, time a successful strike, then press C to craft wherever you are. Gather again immediately. A missed strike grants nothing and preserves crafting ingredients. Reedwatch needs no material fee; later captures use the actual crafted supplies shown before the next attack.
The next major milestone is Frontier Clash: two opposing teams, a reworked existing map and 20–30-minute PvP rounds. Fast arrival, fair equipment, connected objectives, counter-pushes and clear outcomes come before deeper MMO progression. This is the next development direction; the current live chapter remains PvE.
The larger MMO adds custom equipment, deeper progression, banks, repairs, extended questlines, guilds, additional frontiers and a naval campaign. Existing implementations are retained for future use but disabled in Chapter One. Equipment wear is inactive here. Existing saved possessions and progress are protected.
A shared victory visibly advances the boundary. Goblins and orcs can muster, attack, retake land and force the players to rally again. The current chapter must prove that loop before the larger world expands it into a six-frontier campaign whose outcome determines the next reviewed content chapter.
The full-game preview clearly labels future features. A possible $10/month subscription is a provisional design idea; price, currency and terms remain unconfirmed, and no purchase is currently available. Fight the Frontier trailers must present actual implemented gameplay.
Read the current milestones and acceptance gates. Older design pages describe the larger MMO unless explicitly marked as the current chapter.
